SakuraCon formerly known as BakaCon took place last weekend (April 14th-16) over Easter. SakuraCon celebrated its 20th anniversary this year as two cosplayers, Haylee Troncone Cosplay and A-Baby Cosplay, celebrated their 10th year attending. SakuraCon is the largest Anime convention in the North West showcasing Japanese culture, manga, animation, fashion, music and most importantly, food.
Unlike other conventions SakuraCon runs twenty four- seven for the duration of three days, there is always a panel, library, or anime theater room open to those who would rather be awake at four am.
There is non stop fun going on at Sakura-Con. There are musical guests - concerts held in the evening, fashion shows, cosplay chess, martial arts, the masquerade Saturday night and the nightly rave. And that's not including the celebrity voice actor guests, the amazing dealers room and artist alley. The gaming rooms, where attendees share games and have competitions. Nonstop panels and anime screenings theater rooms. . Not only is there a "regular" cosplay contest, skits are performed Saturday morning as part of the competition, and you can always catch some professional and amateur photo shoots going on in the park behind the convention center. Speaking of cosplay...
